ReachWeaver 0.8.0 release notes

Released on 2026-10-17.

Two new offline commands (share and discovery-plan), China-aware manual packages for twelve Chinese platforms, ten more planning destinations (110 in the registry), and Month, Results and Campaigns pages on the dashboard. Everything new is offline or read-only. No change to approval, dry-run, emergency-stop or credential rules, and no new live adapter.

Upgrade notes. None needed. Update the package with pipx upgrade reachweaver and the plugin through /plugin.

  • reachweaver share: pick networks, type a caption, get copy-ready posts. An offline handoff for posting by hand. It writes one package per chosen network into the active private workspace folder, reuses the manual-export rules and preflight checks, and refuses text for human-only destinations such as Reddit and Hacker News, which take talking points instead. It sends nothing and connects no account.
  • reachweaver discovery-plan: evidence-labelled discovery and hashtag suggestions (offline). Suggests platforms and topics from a bundled, dated discovery registry and labels how well each suggestion is supported. Regional sources are described as locators, not as verification of any platform’s ranking. It makes no network request, does not log in, post or schedule, calls no paid model API and promises no reach.
  • Ten more distribution destinations (registry now 110). Misskey, Lemon8, BAND, Niconico, Likee, MeWe, Odysee, Rumble, Minds and diaspora* join the planning registry as manual-only or human-only entries, using the existing manual-export workflow. See docs/TEN-MORE-SOCIAL-NETWORKS-2026-10-17.md. No new automatic publishing or account connection.
  • Chinese social platforms: China-aware manual packages. manual-export --platform weibo (also xiaohongshu, douyin, bilibili, wechat, zhihu, wechat_channels, kuaishou, toutiao, csdn, juejin, oschina) now checks dated, sourced limits. Weibo’s 5,000-character post and 20 MB image limits block. Xiaohongshu’s 20-character title is counted the way its creator page counts it, and limits from creator-page code or developer APIs only warn. The command also writes platform_options.topics to topics.txt in each platform’s own syntax (Weibo #话题#) without touching the post text, and warns on a Weibo #tag without its closing # or text with no Chinese characters. It lists the declarations only you can make, with nothing pre-selected: the AI-generated content label required by China’s labelling measures (Art. 10, in force 2025-09-01), the 广告 label (SAMR Art. 9) and WeChat/Bilibili originality. Batches hash topics.txt too. You still post by hand: none of these platforms has an open posting API that ReachWeaver may use, and nothing is sent, uploaded or scheduled. Guide: docs/CHINA.md.
  • Dashboard: Month calendar, one search box and opt-in alerts. Schedule has a Month view: five weeks from this Monday with each post at its local time, overdue and expired-approval posts marked, and a list of only the busy days on a phone. A search box in the header finds posts in any status, campaign names and hand-shared records by text, id, account, platform, campaign, note or link. Alerts (off by default, browser permission asked once) checks every minute while the tab is open and notifies you when more sends need review or a new readiness block appears; a notification carries counts only, never post text. Still read-only: search is a substring match over your own database, and nothing is sent anywhere.
  • Dashboard: Results and Campaigns pages. Results shows what you recorded from each platform’s own analytics: per-platform totals of exact values with their coverage (for example 3/5 posts), and each published post’s latest record with when it was taken, how long after posting and its source. The post page lists every record of that post. A value you did not record is “unknown”, never 0; platform estimates are labelled and never added to exact counts. Campaigns lists every campaign name with its status counts, platforms and accounts, and a campaign’s page shows its posts side by side with their recorded results. Both are read-only and fetch nothing; a campaign groups posts for review only, and each post is still approved and sent on its own. New shortcuts: g r and g m.
  • reachweaver with no command now helps. It prints the same guidance as reachweaver start (your state and the next command to type) and points to reachweaver --help, instead of a usage error. It reads only local state and creates nothing.
