A practical starting point for studying robotics workloads, middleware discovery and Kubernetes infrastructure—without mistaking historical examples for validated modern deployments.

What has been verified?
| Component | Evidence/status | Do not infer |
|---|---|---|
| ROS 2 Jazzy container | Automated image build and talker/listener test inside one container | Cross-pod, cross-worker or cluster deployment success |
| Historical Vagrant profile | Three configured VMs, older Kubernetes 1.29 and Weave Net | A fresh installation on modern hosts is guaranteed |
| Original ROS workload YAML | Includes stress-ng workload and HPA example | Automatically starting ROS 2 talker/listener |
| Monitoring + analysis | Historical Prometheus/Grafana setup and metrics notebooks | Current/live benchmark measurements |
Important compatibility boundary
ROS 2 Foxy is end-of-life, the Vagrant cluster uses historical Kubernetes 1.29 / Weave Net, and modern cross-worker DDS delivery is not established. Do not use this lab to control safety-critical robots. Read the safety notes before running privileged scripts.
Choose an authentic next step
If you have Docker and want the smallest supported check, use the Jazzy image instructions. If you're researching ROS middleware discovery, begin with the DDS architecture guide. For practical proposals, follow the repository's 2026 roadmap and open issues.
