State found

The first-pass local gate-audit UI was already implemented on PR #560. The required PR gate had failed for repository bookkeeping rather than the GUI logic: the newly added conversation record was absent from the conversation index and generated sitemap.

Completed GUI scope

The local browser interface was expanded from a basic result card into a complete diagnostic dashboard:

• paste or open a verdict-matrix JSON document;
• built-in synthetic example, format, clear, and Ctrl/Cmd+Enter audit actions;
• local input preview with candidate/verifier/evidence-class counts;
• headline nominal-versus-effective vote result;
• panel metrics for accuracy, error correlation, panel error, false accepts, false rejects, and seeded-probe breaches;
• measured/nominal/heuristic/ceiling comparison bars;
• verifier-level accuracy/error table;
• seeded probes grouped by kind;
• advanced metrics and full SHA-256 provenance;
• raw report inspection;
• copy/download of both JSON evidence and Markdown summary;
• responsive and keyboard-accessible layout.

Local security boundary

The GUI remains a localhost tool rather than a hosted verdict service. It binds only to 127.0.0.1 and now also enforces:

• a random per-session API token;
• loopback Host-header checks;
• application/json for audit requests;
• no cross-origin preflight support;
• a 2 MiB request ceiling;
• no-store caching and restrictive browser security headers.

The audit math and contract validation remain in idkmesh.gate_audit; JavaScript does not implement a second copy of the research calculations.

Verification

Focused tests cover the shared strict text parser, loopback binding, complete dashboard surface, JSON and Markdown report response, session-token enforcement, content-type enforcement, oversized-input rejection, Host-header rejection, cross-origin preflight rejection, clean contract failures, the built-in example, and CLI launch/preload/port behavior.

The exact PR head is then submitted to the repository’s normal CI gates before the PR is considered ready for review.

Community impact

The completed UI gives newcomers a usable visual route into the currently installable IDKMesh diagnostic while preserving the project’s evidence and authority boundaries. It lowers terminal/JSON friction without introducing a frontend dependency stack or a hosted service that contributors must trust with review verdicts.
